There are generally two types of insurance you will need to build and own a modular home.
Builder's Risk Policy. During the modular home construction process you may need to obtain builder's risk insurance policy to protect you and your modular home while it is being built to your specifications. This type of insurance policy is a standard in the construction industry.
Homeowner's Policy. Once your new modular home is completed, you will need a homeowner's insurance policy to protect you, your modular home, and your personal property. Some insurance companies may be able to provide you with a homeowner's insurance policy that will include a rider so that you may not need to purchase a separate builder's risk policy.
You should speak to your current homeowner's insurance agent or call one of our insurance agents listed below. It is important to get all insurance information in writing to be certain that you have the adequate insurance for your modular home construction project.
