Green Living begins with Green Modular Home Construction…
All of us are concerned for our environment and our world. In recent years, there has been an increased concern for our environment, reducing waste and living more energy efficient lifestyles. Custom Modular Designs is a group of modular home building professionals who understand these concerns. We are dedicated to building homes that exceed the expectations of our green customers. Every one of our modular homes is made to specific regulations that make them naturally energy efficient and green friendly. Our modular homes our produced with 30% more material increasing their energy efficiency. Due to the efficiencies of our modular home manufacturing process our modular homes use at least 10% less wasted materials.
Some of our customers want more than an energy efficient modular home. For those green customers, we can provide an endless list of green construction modular home building options. Our customer can choose from a variety of products that can be integrated into our modular homes. We can begin with a design that is innately green – Passive Solar Design. A modular home that begins with a passive solar design will require less mechanical heating and cooling because it is designed to use the sun to help heat the home and avoids the sun to help keep the home cool in the hotter months. More aggressive green customers may add solar panels, geothermal heating and cooling and other options to make the home independent of oil, gas and plant produced electricity.
There are many subtle choices in the materials for your green modular home that include materials that come from renewable resources such as OSB (oriented strand board) floor, wall and roof sheathing and bamboo flooring. There are also many conventional options such as argon filled highly efficient windows and impact resistant window glass. The more extreme options include living green roofs.
